Michael H Dalleo Born October 16, 1931 Today the world lost the most amazing man – Michael H Dalleo passed away on Thursday August 10, 2023, peacefully at home with his loving family by his side. Mike was born in West Rutland Vermont, the oldest child of Joseph Dalleo and Hazel (Fredette) Young. He was educated in Johnstown schools where he met the love of his life, Betty Rulison, whom he married on November 11, 1950. Their 72year union produced six children, twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Mike was employed for most of his adult life as a printer for the former Baronet Litho of Johnstown, where he retired in 1991. He also worked for many years at the Ted Thorne Lumber Company and established lifelong friendships there. Mike was a member of the Johnstown Loyal Order of the Moose for 45 years attaining the highest honor bestowed by the local fraternity, Pilgrim of Merit. In his later years he was affectionately known as “The Popcorn Man”. Mike was a master woodworker, both as a hobby and a business and enjoyed crafting heirlooms for his family. Mike was the best father and grandfather you could ask for. He loved spending time with his family and most especially the little ones. He could calm a baby quicker than anyone and they adored him to no end. Mike was a loving loyal man who will be dearly missed by all. He leaves behind a legacy of love, commitment and honor. Mike is survived by his loving wife Betty of 72 years, his children Deborah (Rick) Timmerman, Robin (James) Morrison, Angela (Grant) Carlson, Michael (Bonnie) Dalleo and Brenda (Edward) Leitt. He was predeceased by his daughter Joanne Locascio. Services will be held at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, NY 12078 on Tuesday August 15 with viewing for family & friends at 11am and a service at 1:00pm A celebration of life will be held at the Johnstown Moose Lodge, 109 S Comrie Avenue, Johnstown, NY 12095 at 3pm following services. All are invited to attend.
