James Richard Winget

May 2, 1946 — November 1, 2025

Dr. James R. Winget was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, on May 2, 1946. A longtime chiropractor and Orangevale resident, he passed away peacefully at his home on November 1 after a short battle with cancer.

Jim, age 79, provided chiropractic care for more than 45 years in Northern California. He was an avid model train collector, PONY Baseball coach, and competitive soccer team manager. He led his 1987 Boys River City United Hotspur premier team to the U.S. Nationals, where they placed sixth overall. He was a dedicated supporter of youth athletics and took great joy in cheering on the many sporting events of his children and grandchildren.

Jim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Patty; daughters Tuesdai Powers and Quaker Varin Boyd; sons Bryon and Shaughn Winget; and sister Susan Ledford. He was the loving grandfather of Riley Powers; Addison and Ella Varin; Chloe Smith; Audrey and Sterling Winget; and Georgia and William Winget. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lois Winget.
