Armando Marcos Camacho Oropeza

April 23, 1931 — March 22, 2017

OROPEZA, Armando Marcos Camacho passed away on Wednesday March 22, 2017. Armando was born in Pirtleville, Arizona to Trinidad Camacho Oropeza and Trinidad Oropeza. He started working as a ranch-hand as a young boy of 12. His life combined hard work, a sense of humor, and much love. During his career as a salesman in Tucson, he worked at the F. Ronstadt Co. hardware store, for International Harvester, and as a manager of Copper State, before he started his own business, Tucson Automotive Components (TAC) at 3535 S. Palo Verde. In 1982, he went to work for Transpo Electronics, his brother's company, at the same location until he retired. For more than 50 years, he was an active parishioner at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. He did everything from building the booths for the annual fairs to singing Spanish-language hymns with the Hispanic choir. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Celia Sepúlveda Oropeza, who will always remember his last words to her, "I made the right choice marrying you." He brought into their union two beautiful boys, Marcos Armando (Debbie) and Roberto (Marcie), from a previous marriage. Armando and Celia became parents to Lorena (John) and Alejandro (Stacy). In addition, Armando loved his nieces, Monica Reyes Pearson and Elisa Reyes like father. He was a beloved tío to many more nieces and nephews. In later years, he transitioned to beloved Tata to Rafael Armando, Adriana, Armando, Juan Miguel, Mario, and Arturo. He was a loving brother to Delia Muñoz, Frank Oropeza, and Lupita Oropeza, and to his sister, Virginia and his brother, Trinidad (Sonny) who preceded him in death. He was a generous, compassionate person who never expected anything back in return. He earned the respect and love of those who knew him well. His mother died when he was just six. After that, he developed a devotion to the Virgin Mary who became his mother. He is now at rest in her arms. A Celebration of his Life will take place on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft. Rosary at 12:30 p.m., Funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m., immediately followed by a reception at the church's Healy Hall.
