Ken went to be with his Lord on March 14, 2014. He suffered a massive heart attack and stroke.
Ken was born in Whitesville, Kentucky to John and Lyda Sutton. He went to Daviess County Schools. He graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1963 with a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy and Religion. Graduate School was at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He earned his Master of Arts in Philosophy in 1965 and PhD in Philosophy and Education in 1979. Post Doctoral studies were at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania earning 42 hours in Counselor Education. He headed a team from UNM for the Training of Teacher Trainers.
Ken taught at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois from 1971-1999 in Secondary Education and Foundations, Adult Education, off campus prison education and at Chanute Air Force Base. He was awarded Distinguished Professor for the State on Illinois in 1993-1994. He chaired every major council on campus.
Upon his retirement he and his wife Patricia Little Sutton moved to Tucson, AZ. Ken was a Board of Education Member of the Vail Schools in Vail, AZ for four years. He was involved in the Tucson/Sunshine Kiwanis Club serving as President and Board member. He established a Key Club at Cienega High School in Vail, AZ and served as the club sponsor. He was very involved at Saguaro Christian Church, Tucson, AZ. He sang in the choir, played the dulcimer, piano and guitar, taught Sunday School, served as deacon and elder and served on many committees.
He leaves his wife of 54 years Patricia Little Sutton and special friends and colleagues in Charleston, Mattoon and Neoga Illinois. There are special cousins in Owensboro, Kentucky. His brother-in-law is George W. Little and family of Hartford, KY.
