Msgr. Thomas P. Cahalane

Monsignor Thomas P. Cahalane entered into eternal rest on April 18, 2026.

He was born on October 6, 1938, in Glandore, County Cork, Ireland. His parents, Hannah and Tom, welcomed him into a loving family of four brothers and one sister: Con (Nora), John, Mary (Michael), Michael (Helen), and Patrick (Anne). He is survived by his brother Patrick, nieces and nephews. Yearly trips home to his family home were filled with love and joy as the entire family would gather together to visit with “Sonny”.

Monsignor Tom was ordained as a Roman Catholic Priest in 1963 and served in the Diocese of Tucson in the communities of Scottsdale, San Manuel, Oracle, Mammoth, and Saint Augustine Cathedral. He served as Pastor of Our Mother of Sorrows Parish for 36 years.

Monsignor Tom was Priest and friend to all he served. He was welcoming and surrounded by a loving community. All were drawn to Monsignor Tom because of his deep faith and service to others. As a Servant Leader, he encouraged us and walked with us in our journey of faith, to love the Lord and serve one another, especially those in need and on the margins of life.

He will be missed by all.

Eternal rest grant unto him, Oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
