James Michael Schmitt

James "Jim" Michael Schmitt (55) of Berthoud, Colorado, passed away peacefully in late December 2025 following a lengthy illness. 

Jim built a career helping communities around the world. He was selfless in his actions and put others' needs ahead of his own. A friend to all he met, heart open and warm, Jim was always eager to lend a hand and to share anew old adventures while planning for the next. Whether crafting delightful meals or roasting coffee beans, Jim was happy for everyone to win and have a great time. With a wrench in hand, he was ready to fix anything that needed it. 

 Husband, daddy, son, brother, best friend, Jim's memory is a blessing. His legacy lives on in his work and achievements, and most importantly, in his loving family and radiant daughter.

Jim is survived by his wife, Carrie, and their daughter, Stella. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathryn, and is also survived by his father, James, and siblings, John, Ginny, and Debby.

 A celebration of Jim's life will be held on March 21st, where family and friends are invited to share stories and music that capture his spirit and joy. Harmonicas and flat caps are encouraged.
