Charles Frederick Addington

Charles Frederick Addington, 86, of Blountville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Dante, VA to the late Aubry and Lena Addington. Fred served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Blountville. Fred was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Ada Addington; sons, Fred Addington Jr. and wife Nancy, Jeff Addington, Jon Addington and wife Misty, and Marcus Addington and wife Austin; daughter, Joanna Rafferty and husband Patrick; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Gary M. Addington and wife Shirley; along with a host of friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Clay Austin, Pastor Adam Sells, and Pastor Gary Addington officiating.

A military graveside service will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park with honors conducted by the American Legion Hammond Post #3/265. His family will serve as pallbearers.
