Freda Joan Hilton
December 19, 1953 — June 9, 2026
Freda Joan Hilton, 72, of Kingsport, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 9th, 2026.
Born on December 19, 1953, Freda lived a life defined by faith, love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She loved the Lord with all her heart and found joy in the simple beauties of life, especially yellow roses and red cardinals, which she often considered visitors from heaven.
Freda was a constant source of comfort and support to those around her. She never turned her back on anyone in need and was always ready to offer a helping hand. Her selfless spirit, loving heart, sense of humor, and remarkable strength touched countless lives. Whether family, friend, or stranger, everyone who knew Freda knew they could count on her kindness and compassion.
Among the many things she treasured in life was the companionship of her beloved “great grand pup”, Ruger, who brought her comfort, joy, and unconditional love.
She leaves behind her loving daughter, Jackie Daniels, and son-in-law, Melvin Daniels; her cherished granddaughter, Katie Daniels; her sister, Elizabeth Franklin; her brothers, Teddy Necessary, Dewey Necessary, Charles Necessary, and Mark Necessary; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Freda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, James (Toot) Hilton; her parents, Ruth and Habron Necessary; and her sisters, Venus Necessary, Wilma Hartgrove, and Jenny Carrico.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Gentiva Hospice for the exceptional care, comfort, and dignity they provided during her final days.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that her faith has carried her home. Her legacy of love, generosity, and steadfast devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Whenever a yellow rose blooms or a cardinal appears nearby, those who loved Freda will be reminded of the beautiful spirit she shared with the world.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
The family will be having a visitation for family and friends at Carter Trent in Kingsport on June 12th between the hours of 5pm-7pm with the funeral following.
The burial will be on June 13th at Hamlett Dobson Memorial Park (2630 Highway 75, Blountville, TN 37617) at 11am.
