Paul Dewitt Morris Jr

Paul Dewitt Morris Jr, 54, of Gate City passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born in Silver Springs, Maryland to Paul Morris and Teresa Holbrook Simonds. He was a hippie and was known for his free spirit. Paul was a loving son, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Dewitt Morris Sr. and his sister, Elizabeth; aunt and uncle who he thought of as parents, Butch and Brenda Davis.

Survivors include his mother, Teresa Simonds; sister, Terrenia Lewis and husband Chandler; brothers, Devin Johnson and Dalton Simonds; along with a host of friends and extended family.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is serving the Morris family.
