Opal Wallen 93, of Kingsport, peacefully walked into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October, 29, 2024 with her children by her side. She was born in Kingsport and lived in the Sullivan Gardens Community. She was a 1949 graduate of Sullivan High School, and made her career in banking for over 25 years. In her later years, her time was spent enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Morelock Jr.; second husband, Glynn Wallen;  and daughter, Becky Bacon.

Survivors include her son, Brian Morelock and wife Janie; daughter, Glynna Carruthers and husband Scott; grandchildren, Cameron Morelock and wife Faith, Ben Warner and wife Carly, Brianna Jorgenson and husband Tyler; great- grandchildren, Ava, Adelaide, Holden, and Harper who is due in March; special sister-in-law, Helen Wells; special friend Madeline Depew; devoted neighbors, Brad and Nicky Compton; along with several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be conducted at Poplar Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ben Warner, Cameron Morelock, Brad Compton, Jay Conkin, Scott Carruthers, and Brian Hill.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Amedysis Hospice, especially Justin Meade, and NHC of Johnson City for their loving care of our mother.
