Dewey Glidden Lane Jr.
February 15, 1950 — May 28, 2026
Dewey Glidden Lane Jr., 76, of Church Hill, TN, left his earthly body behind to be ushered into the arms of Jesus, after a brief and courageous health battle.
Dewey is survived by his daughter, Holly Lane. Grandchildren: Ava Ingle (David), Aaron Large, and Ty Large. Holly’s mother, Edie Lane. Siblings: Wilma Tipton, Billy Lane, and Mildred Clonce.
Dewey was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Glidden Lane Sr., and Mallie Hammonds Lane. He was also preceded in death by siblings; Donald Lane, Shirley Archer and Janice Jennings.
Dewey was drafted into the United States Army shortly after high school at Church Hill High School, and was honorably discharged in April 1972. He worked at Kingsport Press, AFG Industries, and Donihe Graphics, from which he retired.
Beyond his career, Dewey was a loving and caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend; leaving behind shoes no other could ever fill.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at Holston View Cemetery at 11:00 am with Pastor David H. Ingle officiating. Pallbearers will be Billy Lane, Tim Archer, David J. Ingle. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Large and Ty Large. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am.
We extend much heartfelt gratitude to those whom we crossed paths with during this time at the Ballad Health Hospice House, Bristol, TN. Your loving and compassionate kindness in his care was noticed and appreciated beyond words: notably; Pamela, Jane, Angie, and Betty.
