Elder Greg E. Hill

Elder Gregory E. Hill 51, of Gate City went to be with the Lord on December 18, 2018 as a result of an automobile accident. Greg was employed by the STC at Yuma Elementary School. He was an ordained minister in the Eastern District Association of Primitive Baptists. Greg was a member and served as Pastor at Roller’s Chapel and Cadet Primitive Baptist Churches. He enjoyed visiting his sister churches with his loving friend Kim Robinette; as well as, hunting, fishing, and golfing. Greg was a loving friend, devoted family member, and a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior who will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elder Ben and Flora Hill; maternal grandparents, Ballard and Virginia Tankersley. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Thomas (Wendy) Hill, Brandon Hill, and Cody (Chelsea) Hill; daughter, Tabatha ( Shawn) Rhoton; parents, Gaylord and Aubra Hill; brothers, Randy Hill, Bobby (Dee Dee) Hill, sister, Tammy (Jeff) Pendleton; grandchildren, Daisy and Daniel Hill, Hailey and Abigail Hill, Aulbrey Lucas, Trinity Hill, Kenleigh and Stella Rhoton; nieces, Taylor Pendleton and Gracie Hill; along with a host of friends and extended family. The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, December 21, 2018 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Elder David Vanhoose, Elder Oscar Irvin, and Elder Bernice Sybert officiating. Music will be provided by the Kaylors Chapel Quartet and Elder Terry Sizemore. A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Flower Gap Cemetery with Bobby and Randy Hill, Jason M. Robinette, Roy Jones, Scott Tipton, Shawn Rhoton, and Cliff Horne serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Willis, Don Stokes, Daniel Hurd, Butch Woodward, Bill Tomlinson, Ed Bowles, and Jeff Pendleton. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:50pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Roller’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in care of Kim Robinette at 2516 Canton Rd. Blackwater, VA 24221.
