Linda Belle Moore Carter, 79 years old, of Kingsport, TN, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 28, 2024. She was born in Scott County, VA on October 22, 1944, a daughter of the late Roy and Pearlie Moore. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by sisters, Margie Presnell, Marie Mastin and Wanda Carter; brothers, James Moore and Bill Flanary. Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Johnny “Ted”Carter, Jr.; Daughter, Donna Edens; sons, Jeff (Darlene) Carter and Russell (Trisha) Carter; granddaughters, Melissa (Chris) Wall, Jessica (David) Roberts, Santana (Craig) Mullins, and Kasey (Shields) Lee; grandson, Wesley (Caitlyn) Stidham; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; brother, Emmit “Bud” Moore; sisters, Shirley Nickels and Patricia Lane; special cousin/sister, Mildred (Dwight) Lane; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, February 1, 2024 at First Free Will Baptist Church of Morrison City, 211 W. Carters Valley Rd, Kingsport, TN. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Brother Raymond Summey and Brother James Mann officiating. Music will be provided by Travis and Marsha Barnett. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, February 2, 2024 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. The family will be meeting at the church at 10:00 am to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Katie Roberts, Kai Turner, Ashtyn Roberts, Noah Roberts, Wesley Stidham and Dwight Lane. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting their website www.stjude.org. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the 3rd floor at Bristol Regional Medical Center for their compassion and love showed to Linda and all her family.
