Louise O. Dean, 84, of Weber City, graduated from earth to Heaven on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Dean; parents, Henry and Laura Barnette, four brothers, two sisters; one granddaughter.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Johnson, Ruby Craft, and Carol Eaton; son, James Dean; four grandsons, five great grandchildren; four special fur babies, Bo, Callie, Simba, and Baxter; special friends, Elisha Barnett and Scottie Watts.

The family will receive friends from 11am to 1pm on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow with Rev. Bill Porter officiating. Music will be provided by Gail Scheffers.

A graveside service will follow at the Lawson Confederate Cemetery in Snowflake with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Ed Kerney, Rev. Rex McMurray, and Hubert Davis will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Nottingham Church at 2616 Nottingham Rd. Gate City, VA 24251.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mountain Region Home Health and Caris Hospice of Big Stone Gap for their loving care.
