Robert Bob Hansen

July 19, 1933 — March 18, 2026

Robert “Bob” Hansen entered the Kingdom of God on March 18, 2026, at the age of 92.

Robert (Bob) was born on July 19, 1933, in Waupun, WI. He lived some of his early years in Marinette, WI, before moving to his beloved Peshtigo, WI. He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1951 and went on to attend Marquette University, graduating from the College of Engineering in 1955. It was there that he met and married Mary Lou and formed lifelong friendships with a group of friends who became known as the “Potluck” group.

Bob began his professional career at the Heil Company. He later accepted a position with Powers Regulator Company, where he moved up through the ranks from Milwaukee to Champaign, IL, and then to Peoria, IL, becoming the branch manager. Bob went on to manage offices in Los Angeles and Cleveland before transitioning to Midwest Regional Manager out of the Chicago office. He later joined the Barber Coleman Company, working as National Sales Manager and Director of Field Operations, resulting in a move to Rockford, Illinois.

Bob was extremely talented and successful professionally. He truly enjoyed his work and the many friendships he made across the country. He retired in 1993, allowing he and Mary Lou to enjoy ten more wonderful years together before Mary Lou died of breast cancer in 2004. This time included watching their children’s growing families, taking memorable trips to Europe, and attending many Marquette basketball games and tournaments. Bob was an avid fan and season ticket holder for both Marquette University’s men’s and women’s teams. He was a proud member of the Marquette University Alumni Association, Blue and Gold Tip-Off Club, Directors Club, Presidents’ Council, and Eagles Edge Club.

In 1994, Bob and Mary Lou moved to Waukesha. In 2023, Bob moved to Eau Claire to be nearer to his family.

Bob is survived by his four children, Tim (Pernilla) Hansen of Morgan Hill, CA, Jane (Jim) Anklam of Eau Claire, WI, Susan (Tim) Hinze of St. Paul, MN, and Rob (Jennifer) Hansen of Traverse City, MI; grandchildren, Mikaela, Katrina, and Emily Hansen, Anna and Andrew Anklam, Sierra and Aurora Hinze, and Daniel Hansen. Bob could not have loved or been more proud of each of his grandchildren. Further survived by sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws; Mary Fellenz of Bozeman, MT, Peter (Cathy) Fellenz of Easthampton, MA, Paul (Kathy) Fellenz of Neenah, WI; several cousins; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Bob is preceded in death by his mother and father, Evelyn and Norman Hansen; his loving wife and best friend, Mary Lou (nee Fellenz); his brother, Norman “Red” Hansen; brother-in-laws, Robert and Dick Fellenz; and sister-in-law, Margee Fellenz.
