Robert Dwight Patterson
Dec 3, 1945 — Jul 26, 2026
Robert Dwight Patterson, age 80, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Robert was born on December 3, 1945, to Robert Patterson Sr. and Marie (nee Sonneck) Patterson. After graduating from high school, he continued his education at Paul Smith's College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Forestry. Following school, he proudly answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Navy. After 25 years of service, he went on to enjoy a successful career as a Field Engineer.
In June of 1969, Robert married the love of his life, Sharon (nee Davies) Patterson. Together they built a life rooted in love, laughter, and family and were blessed with their daughter, Heather.
Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, woodworking, baking, studying history, and spending time outdoors. Some of his favorite moments were the walks he shared with his daughter and making memories with his family. He was known for his dry sense of humor, gentle spirit, inquisitive mind, and unmistakable sweet tooth. Those who knew him appreciated his quiet kindness and thoughtful nature. One of his favorite sayings, after completing any simple task, was "And now, for our next miracle."
Robert will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sharon Patterson; his cherished daughter, Heather Hansen; his son-in-law, Mike Mueller; his treasured grandchildren, Jack Hansen and Erik Hansen; his younger sister, Cathy Nass; his best friend, Geoff Gauger; and many extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Patterson Sr. and Marie Patterson, and his younger sister, Lynn Pasko.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Robert's life on Friday, July 31, 2026, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m.
Though deeply missed, Robert's legacy of quiet strength, unwavering love for his family, and gentle humor will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
