Sheila Boyd
Jun 28, 1953 — Apr 17, 2026
Sheila had a deep love for life’s simple joys and for the people and animals who filled her world with happiness. She loved to bake, garden, craft, and spend time with her beloved dogs. Sheila had a generous spirit and a heart for giving back to her community, always putting others before herself. She was a natural caregiver who took great pride in caring for those around her. She adored children and had a special way of making them feel loved and important—especially during the holidays, when she delighted in creating thoughtful goodie bags just for them.
In her younger years, Sheila enjoyed horseback riding and line dancing and was known for her sassy, spunky personality and her love of a good joke. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween, and took great joy in making creative costumes. A devoted fan of all things Disney, she held a special place in her heart for Mickey Mouse and cherished memories of a vacation in Hawaii with Mike and Marie. Spring days brought her particular happiness, and she treasured every moment spent with her family and friends.
Her greatest joy was being with loved ones. Known lovingly as a wife, mother figure, aunt, friend, neighbor, and “The Baking Grandma!” Sheila created magical memories with her grandchildren and many children over the years—building blanket forts, sharing laughter, and always making sure they had whatever snacks their hearts desired at Grandma Sheila’s house. She also held a special affection for her niece Elizabeth’s dogs, whom she lovingly considered her grandbabies.
Sheila will be missed by her brother, Mike (Marie) Burgau; niece Tracy (JP) Boucher, Kristen (Bennett and Scarlett) Smits; nephew, Douglas (Laura) Burgau, Jonathan Dick; stepson, Matthew (Melinda) Boyd; and grandchildren, Dar’ Niesha and Lamont. She is further survived by other in-laws, nieces and nephews, and many special friends, especially Jeanne Grzegorek, Victor Schieffer, and “niece” Elizabeth Blaisdell.
Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Boyd; parents, Russell Burgau and Patricia Jashinsky; and her beloved dog, Boots.
Sheila will be remembered for her big heart, her generous spirit, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and love.
Services for Sheila will be held at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home (237 N. Moreland Blvd, Waukesha WI 53188) on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Visitation will begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. A private burial will take place at a later date.
