Dorothy Jean Cooper

Dorothy Jean Cooper, known as Dot, passed away in the hospital on June 27th, 2022. She was 79 years old. She was born to John and Virginia Kerschner on November 9, 1942 in Michigan.
Dorothy graduated Monroe High School in 1966. She married her husband, Floyd Cooper, in 1969 at the Church of Nazarene. She has been a Charlotte County resident for over 50 years. Dorothy was a housewife who enjoyed bingo, crocheting and solitaire. She was also a member of the Port Charlotte Moose Lodge #2121.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Floyd Cooper, Dorothy (Randy) Tuck, John Cooper, Edwin (Kathleen) Cooper, Ivan Cooper and Allen Cooper; and grandchildren, Paul Pyle, Eli Cooper, Randy Tuck and Kagen Cooper.
Dorothy is predeceased by her parents, John and Virginia Kershner; her loving husband, Floyd “Shorty” Cooper; and granddaughter Autumn Sullivan.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm. There will be a graveside service the following day, Wednesday, July 6, 2022 starting at 10am. All services will be held at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 9400 Indian Spring Cemetery Road, Punta Gorda, Florida 33950.
