Bobby Joe Griggs, beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in Lexington, Kentucky, at the age of 82. Born on March 29, 1943, in Winchester, Kentucky, Bobby lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
He was a dedicated family man, survived by his two daughters, Leann (Boain) Fraley and Leslie (Wally) Burton, who reside in Nicholasville, Kentucky. His legacy continues through four grandchildren—Ashley (Jesse), Hagen (Brandon), Morgan (Melissa), and Dawson—as well as eight great-grandchildren who brought him immense joy: Ashton (Joey), Madison (Joshua), Abby, Elliott, Brinley, Kaden, Wyatt, and Waylon. He also leaves behind six great-great-grandchildren, August, Easton, Miles, Marguax, Josiah, and Maddox, along with his loving sister, Sandy (Wayne) Pittman, Winchester, KY and sister-in-law, Betty Jo Griggs, Georgetown, KY and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who cherished his presence.
Bobby retired from IBM as a Line Technician, where he was known for his professionalism and dedication. In his younger years, Bobby enjoyed playing golf, and he carried a passion for all things with a touch of bling, often sporting jewelry that made a statement about his vibrant personality. Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Brenda Griggs, who was his partner in life, and he was also preceded by his sister, Charlotte Ann Rose, and brother, Ted Griggs. The bonds he forged with his family and friends will forever be cherished and remembered.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Friday March 27, 2026 at Clark Legacy Center - Brannon Crossing, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:30 PM. Bobby Joe Griggs will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, humor, and love for life will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
