Obituary
Cecil D. "Moe" Rawlings, 59, of Lexington, Kentucky, died Monday, March 26, 2012 after a short illness. He was born on June 25, 2952 in the Philippine Islands, the son of the late Col. William W. and Jane D. Rawlings.
Moe is survived by his partner, Linda Potter; his ex-wife and close friend, Trish Prewitt; children, Daniel Garrard Rawlings and Jane Donnelly Rawlings; sisters, Dru Rawlings (William) Kemp, Lenore (Reggie) Hickman; brother, Bill Rawlings; close friend, Dan Hammond; and 11 nephews, nieces and grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Gracie and nephew, Grayson Lloyd Altman.
Moe was owner of Laser Technology and a graduate of Transylvania University. A renaissance man, Moe loved reading philosophy and history, music and conversations about esoteric and humorous subjects. He was a witty and wickedly funny man, a loyal friend, and adored his children fiercely. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Service will be 5 pm, Thursday, March 29 at Quest Community Church, 410 Sporting Court, Lexington, Kentucky. A second Memorial Service will be held at a later date at the Manchester Presbyterian Church.
