Charles "Ed" Harris

Charles "Ed" Harris, 65, of Louisville passed away at Hospital Nacional in Panama City, Republic of Panama on Sunday, April 22.
Ed was born in Louisville, Kentucky and a graduate of both the University of Kentucky and the Kentucky State University, where he achieved a Bachelor's degree in Geology and Master's degree in Business Administration. Ed was a Vietnam War Veteran and served in the Marine Corps, from which he was awarded a Purple Heart. Ed was a distinguished petroleum geologist, being a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologist and others. After a career working in the oil industry, Ed dedicated himself to public service in Kentucky, where he retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Allen Harris, and mother, Dorothy Evelyn Harris.
Ed is survived by three daughters, Leslie (Jason) Pickrell, Haley Harris, and Elizabeth (David) Columbia; two grandsons, Jake and Luke Pickrell; and, sister, Leigh Harris Pate.
