Obituary
Debra Forman Winograd, 59, of Lexington, Kentucky, passed away at her home on Friday, October 19, 2012. She was born on July 27, 1953 in Boulder, Colorado to the late George and Luetta Forman.
Debra received a BA in Political Science and a BA in Sociology from Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. She did graduate work at Northern Illinois University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Kentucky. Ms. Winograd worked as a research assistant and instructor for two universities, project manager of Mid-America Apartment Management, and case manager for the Area Agency on Aging with the Bluegrass Area Development District.
Debra volunteered and served on many councils and committees dear to her heart: those that aided the poor, protected the elderly, and sheltered homeless companion animals. A partial listing of these agencies includes: Lexington Repair Affair, the Senior Protection Project, and served on the Advisory Council of the Lexington Senior Citizen Center. She was a committee member of the Aylesford East University Small Area Plan, the LFUCG Planning Commission, and a board member of the Chevy Chase Neighborhood Association. She was also a regular volunteer with Lexington Democratic Party Headquarters on South Broadway.
Debra is survived by many devoted friends and neighbors, and by her companions Woodie, Arlo, and Annie, the 3Bs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Forman Crane.
