Kathy Gaines Toomey

Kathy Gaines Toomey, 71, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025, in Lawrenceburg, KY. She was born in Lexington, KY on June 17, 1953, to the late Louis and Dorothy (Atha) Toomey. Kathy was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Her free spirit personality and beautiful smile would light up every room she walked in. She never met a stranger and had love and compassion for everybody she encountered.  

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, one son Anthony (Tony) Burton, two brothers Earl (Sonny) Toomey, Terry Toomey and one sister Beverly Holt. She is survived by her son, Chris Burton, Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Odyssey, Christopher, Luke, Sloane and Elizabeth; two great- grandchildren Kamyah and Issac ;one brother, Lou (Diane)Toomey, Dickson, Tennessee and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends . 

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday January 17, 2025 5pm-7pm Friday at Clark Legacy Center – Brannon Crossing.
