Leo Roy Danaher, Jr, 82, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017. A native of St Marys, Ohio, he was born February 12, 1935 to the late Leo Roy Danaher, Sr. and Eva Metzger Pittner. Fondly known as The Mascott of Sayre Christian Village, Leo enjoyed playing board games, working puzzles, rooting for the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians, as well as wreaking general havoc on the staff and residents at Sayre Christian Village. Yes, Leo was a trouble maker, and everyone loved it!
Leo is survived by his son, Joe (Rita) Danaher, Nicholasville; sisters, Sr. Mary Brigid, OH and Rose Marie Greer, CO; step-brothers, Nick Pittner, OH and Jim Pittner, OH; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Kathy Matthews, Frankfort; and grandchildren, Kyle Danaher, Makensie Danaher, Ryan Jae Danaher, and Dylan Danaher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Danaher and a son, Steve Danaher.
Funeral Information
A Funeral Mass will be held 11:00am, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Pax Christi Catholic Church with a short visitation prior to Mass from 10:30am-11:00am, also at the church.
