Mary Ann Adkins
August 14, 1953 — September 29, 2015
Lexington, KY
Mary Ann came from humble beginnings in the hills of Logan, WV. She developed a close relationship with her Heavenly Father at an early age. During her senior year at Logan High, Mary married Donald Adkins. She led him to church, where he was born again.
At age 31, Don and Mary Ann moved to Tulsa, OK to attend Rhema Bible Training Center. In 1988, they began pastoring Faith Christian Assembly in Flatwoods, KY, where they remained for over 8 years. In 1996, they moved to Lexington, KY to become the pastors of Family Worship Center, where they have remained until now.
Mary Ann traveled nationally and internationally ministering the Word of God alongside her husband. She had a special gift of seeing potential in others and encouraging them to go for it. She helped multiple young men and women launch into ministry. If you knew her, you know that nothing made her happier than to start a love connection. Several couples were married after being set-up by Mary Ann. Thousands of others were inspired by her marriage with Don.
She loved her boys and her daughter-in-laws. She loved her grandkids, each one so unique. She loved her sisters and all of her nieces nephews. She loved good preaching. She loved a great novel. She loved the beach. She loved Christmas. She loved her church, especially all the kids, treating each of them as one of her own. More than anything in this world, she loved Don.
Mary Ann Adkins impacted her world in every geography and throughout every season of her life. If you knew her, you loved her, because you knew that she loved you!
