Peggy "Lee" Clark

Peggy "Lee" Smith Clark, 75, of Lexington, KY passed away peacefully on Saturday June 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was Born October 11, 1950 in Martin Tennessee.

She led a passionate, vibrant life working her way to the top of her industry in the 1980s before starting her own businesses which focused on key environmental issues. She then obtained her degree from Eastern Kentucky University. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church and served in choir and homemakers. A voracious reader, she also had a great passion for writing, art, painting, sewing, horses, gardening and cooking. Lee's favorite holidays were Christmas and the Kentucky Derby. Her three children and later 11 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren were her heart. Her most beloved Christmas tradition, besides having family with her in her home, was hanging each and every family member’s stocking around her tree.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory; son, Robert Lee Jackson (Frankfort); daughter, Elizabeth M Clark (Lexington); sister, Pamela Faye Smith (Tennessee); grandchildren, Anthony, Sadie, Jacob, Joshua, Liz, Jake, Austin, William; great grandchildren, Delilah, Carter, Jennavieve, Adrien and Maya.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Lee Smith and Bonnie Ruth Moore; brothers, Micheal Lynn Smith and Tony Smith; her son, Joseph Scott Beshears; and grandsons, Camaron Beshears, Aaron Beshears and Tyler Clark.

Per Lee's request, her family hosted an 'Aloha" celebration of life several weeks ago, so that Lee could experience the love and laughter from her family and close friends one last time. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation.
