Connor Joseph Markey
Dec 24, 1995 — May 7, 2026
Connor Joseph Markey, 30, of Versailles, Kentucky, passed away on May 7, 2026, while vacationing in Puerto Rico. Born on December 24, 1995, in Westerville, Ohio, to Joseph and Kammy McGann Markey, he spent his entire life in Versailles. He graduated from Woodford County High School in 2014.
He is survived by his loving parents, Joseph and Kammy Markey; his twin brothers, Nathan Markey and Travis (Rachael) Markey; his grandmother, Marilyn McGann; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who will cherish his memory.
Connor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Barbara Markey, and Paul McGann of Ottawa, Illinois, and his two uncles, Pat Markey and Ed Condron.
Connor’s greatest joy came from tending to his bees. A dedicated beekeeper, he took immense pride in selling every jar of his honey. He found pleasure in spinning Poi and Flowstars daily and loved making videos of how well he mastered them. He loved working with his hands—whether through dry stone masonry projects, cooking restaurant-style breakfasts for his dad, or serving as the prep cook during family meals. He had a deep passion for ceremonial-grade Keith’s Cacao, which he enjoyed both in quiet moments alone and shared with friends.
A gentle soul who befriended everyone he met, Connor formed connections across all walks of life, from people in their 20s to those in their 80s. He was an animal lover who rescued many cats and found peace and excitement in the outdoors—exercising daily, visiting the sauna, cold plunging, foraging for mushrooms, hunting for geode rocks, hiking, and attending festivals. He poured love into every gift, whether handmade or thoughtfully chosen as one-of-a-kind treasures for his family.
