John Nugent Adair

Jack passed away peacefully on September 12, 2017 with his children and family by his side.

Born to parents Robert (Bob) W. Adair and Anne (Foster) Adair. He was married to Patricia (Finnegan) Adair from 1954 to 1978. He is survived by his children John Adair, Jr. of Medford, OR; Deborah Adair of Vancouver, WA; Mark Adair of Walnut Grove, CA; and Robin Adair of South Lake Tahoe, CA; grandchildren Rachel Adair-Joyce of Portland, OR; Christopher Adair of Eugene, OR; Ashley Barnes of Vancouver, WA; great-granddaughters June Adair and Reese Adair of Eugene, OR; and brother Robert (Bob) Adair or Eugene, OR.

Jack graduated from the University of Oregon in Eugene in the mid-1950’s with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.

Jack’s career was primarily spent in the retail clothing industry. Although he traveled extensively, he was always home for his family.

Jack was a descendant of one of Oregon’s earliest pioneer families. Named after General John Adair, the first Customs Collector of the West Coast, who was based in Astoria, OR.

Jack had many hobbies and interests in retirement, especially living part time at Rockaway Beach, OR, including collecting driftwood, beachcombing, and campfires with family and friends.

His family will dearly miss him.
