Lora Carter
August 15, 1925 — October 11, 2023
Lora Carter passed away peacefully at 98 years of age on October 11, 2023.
She was born Lora Josephine Warner in Portland, Oregon to Roy and May Warner. She majored in Home Economics at Girls Polytech in highschool and in her one year at OSU.
Lora married Ken Carter in 1946 and welcomed 4 children, Dana, Paul, Sean, and Joe. They lived in NE Portland and Lora, in addition to raising their 4 boys, she gardened, sewed, painted, made woven baskets, and enjoyed wood carving.
In 1980, Lora served in the Peace Corps Philippines for 2 years teaching sewing classes and doing other community development projects. Ken and Lora backpacked and enjoyed traveling together.
She is survived by 3 sons, (Paul, Sean and Joe), 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild, plus many nieces and nephews.
