Christine Margaret Swarthout

Christine Margaret Swarthout passed away peacefully on February 4, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 61 years old. Chris is survived by her daughter, Breanne(Brian) and her son Matthew (Sarah) and their father, Brian Swarthout. Grandchildren, Grayson and Alexa and step grandchildren, Olivia and Alicia. Her mother Elinor Valenta as well as her siblings, Steve, Frank, Nicki, and Barbie. Also her beloved Pug, Cody. She is preceded in death by her father, Frank Valenta. Chris was born on March 8, 1956 in Tacoma, Washington. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1974. Chris lived the vast majority of her life in Sumner where she worked for the Sumner School District for many years. She finished the last 12 years of her life as a flight attendant for Alaska Airlines. Chris had many passions in life. She enjoyed running multiple marathons, traveling to Cabo, spending time with her family and friends and supporting the Sumner High sports teams. A viewing is scheduled for Friday, February the 9th from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Curnow Funeral Home, 1504 Main Street, Sumner 98390. A Graveside memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 10th at 11:00 Am at Sumner City Cemetery, 12324 Valley Ave E, Puyallup 98372. There will be a celebration of life to follow at 1:00 at the Kelley Farm, 20021 Sumner-Buckley Hwy E, Bonney Lake, 98391.
