Herbert “Bud” Tubbs October 30, 1939 – May 13, 2026

Herbert “Bud” Tubbs was born on October 30, 1939, to John and Harriet Tubbs on the White Earth Indian Reservation in Minnesota. At the age of three, his family moved to Seattle, where he grew up alongside his two brothers.

Bud attended Cleveland High School, where he participated in football and track. His talent in the high jump earned him a scholarship to the University of Washington.

In May 1963, Bud was drafted into the United States Army and stationed in El Paso, Texas. While there, he went on a blind date and met the love of his life, Mary Doran. They were married on September 18, 1965, and began their life together in Seattle.

In December 1968, Bud and Mary welcomed their first daughter, Cristi. In 1971, Bud moved his family to Lake Tapps, where he built the home he and Mary shared throughout their lives together. In January 1973, they welcomed their second daughter, Cindi.

Bud retired from the Boeing Company in 1995 after 36 years of dedicated service. In retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing with friends, and spending countless hours with his grandchildren. He was happiest while spending time at his property on Hood Canal.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Mary; daughters Cristi (James) and Cindi (Rob); grandchildren Nolan, Abbey, Andrew, Caleb, and Sophia; brother Joe Tubbs; nephew Brock Tubbs (Shiela);

niece Danita Wilson (Mark); and great-nieces and great-nephews Rainor (Alica), Madeline (Dillon), Stefanija, and Mitchell.

He was deeply loved and will be missed every day.
