Joseph P. Serksnis, 86, of Venice, formerly of Columbus, OH, passed away on January 3rd. He was born in Cleveland, OH on August 28, 1921. Joseph served in the US Army as a Mess Sergeant in New Market, England during WWII. He received his bachelor’s degree in Business from Ohio University and later received his master’s in Business from Cleveland State University. Joseph had worked for the Nationwide Insurance Co. prior to retiring to Venice in 1972. He was active in American Legion, Elks, Civitan Club, AARP, Autobahn Society, Knights of Columbus and the Blood Bank. Joseph was a communicate of St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Englewood, and was a communicate and member of the Epiphany Cathedral in Venice. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn in 2000. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be 1 PM on Monday, January 7th at the Epiphany Cathedral. Arrangements by Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God, 3603 McRoberts Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15234.
