Elizabeth “Liz” Josephine Bruckman, 90, passed away surrounded by family on June 12, 2022, in her home in Venice, FL. She was born in Niles, MI on February 7, 1932, to Frank and Elizabeth Skalla. Liz graduated from Niles High School in 1949 and Michigan State University in 1955. She taught elementary school throughout the midwest for 18 years. She married her first husband Richard Doranski until his passing in 1979. Liz married her second husband Raymond Bruckman in 1981. They relocated to Venice, FL in 1989. Liz was very involved in the community by volunteering at the Literacy Volunteers of Sarasota, SHARE, helped with the senior activities at Epiphany Cathedral Church, a member of the Venice Area Quilting Guild with Match and Patch, and a member of Busy Fingers Knitting Club. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. Liz is predeceased by her first husband Richard , her second husband Raymond, stepson Ken Bruckman, and her parents Frank and Elizabeth Skalla. She is survived by her children Sue Dankovich, Mary French, John Doranski, Marilyn Jones, Joanne George, and Glen Bruckman, 26 grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren. A mass will be held at Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church, 310 Sarasota St, Venice, FL 34285, on Friday, June 17, 2022, at 10:30AM, with interment in Epiphany Memorial Gardens to follow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Epiphany Cathedral School, 316 Sarasota St, Venice, FL 34285.
