Warren Wasson, age 88, of Nokomis, FL, died peacefully at home on July 22, 2022. He was born to Resa and Verna Wasson on October 1, 1933, in High Point, MS. Warren spent 43 years in, serving in the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church. He retired from the ministry in 1999, after serving at Grace United Methodist Church for four years. Warren was heavily involved with Suncoast Emmaus and always wanted to share his faith with those he met. He enjoyed fishing, turkey hunting, reading, and gardening, but his favorite pastime was being with his family. Surviving family members include his wife of 66 years, Dorris Ann; sons Luke and Wes; daughters Edna and Nancy; sister Elizabeth “Cricket” King; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Warren was preceded in death by his sister Mary Dell Hubbard. There will be a visitation time at Grace United Methodist Church on Wednesday, July 27th from 3-4 pm with a funeral service to follow at 4 pm. Burial will be at Shady Grove Cemetery in Mississippi. Memorial donations can be directed to Grace United Methodist Church in Venice, Suncoast Emmaus, or the United Methodist Children’s Home in Enterprise, FL.
