Sheldon Leonard Toepfer age 76 passed away on October 31, 2022, surrounded by his family. Sheldon was born to Rev. Leonard and Dorine Toepfer on July 3, 1946, in Monroe, MI. Sheldon was a veteran of the United States Navy and lived in Green Springs, OH before relocating to Venice, FL 1983. Sheldon was a Grace United Methodist Church member for 40+ years and worked for the Sarasota County School Board for 19 years. Sheldon is preceded in death by his parents Rev. Leonard Charles Toepfer and Dorine Elizabeth Toepfer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 34 years Cindy Perry Toepfer; sons Anddrew “Drew” Sheldon Toepfer, and Shane Perry Toepfer; and sister Barbra Shaffer. A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Grace United Methodist Church. A graveside committal will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on Friday, December ,, 2022 at 9:30 am.
