Eva Margaretha Zinsmeister was a beacon of love and light in our lives. Born in Borås, Sweden on December 13th, 1942, she moved to the United States and married her beloved husband Dieter Zinsmeister in New Britain, Connecticut in 1967. Together they spent 55 beautiful years creating a life filled with love, laughter, gardening, and adventure before retiring to Sarasota, Florida where they spent their golden years. Eva was a wonderful woman who always put her family first. She had a kind and gentle nature that made everyone feel loved. Her smile could light up any room, and her hugs could heal any heartache. Her warmth and generosity was always present for those she loved in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, Oma, friend, and well-loved member of the community. It is with great sadness that we announce Eva’s unexpected passing on February 16th, 2023. Her legacy lives on in her husband Dieter Zinsmeister, daughter Anne Dunn, son John Zinsmeister, daughter-in-law Delinda Zinsmeister, granddaughter Ellen Dunn, and grandson-in-law to be Chris D’Amico. She will be remembered with love and gratitude as she reunites with her infant son Mark Zinsmeister. She will be deeply missed by all. Rest in peace, dear Oma.
