Jean Pierre Leon DeGreef, age 73, of Venice, FL, died peacefully on Wednesday February 22nd, 2023. He was born to Albert and Martha DeGreef on February 24, 1949 in Brussels, Belgium. Jean Pierre, an avid sportsman, was always involved in various athletic endeavors. In his youth, he played for the Aderlecht Football Club and was president of his tennis club. He attended the St. Thomas Institute of Belgium and began his professional journey as a teacher. He was then called up to serve in the Belgian Military for one year. Post service, Jean Pierre made a career change into pharmaceuticals, working for Merck Sharp & Dohme. During this time he took a business trip to New York where he met Margaret “Ginny”. Married in 1982, their 40 year love story captivated those around them. Jean Pierre is survived by his wife Ginny. Two daughters, Anouk and Lorna. And three granddaughters, Samantha, Emma, and Yentl.
