Charlie, 89, passed away peacefully at home on March 28, 2023. He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Pauline (Archambault), his daughter and son in law, Diane and Mitchell Resnick, and his son and daughter in law, James and Helen Northup. He was the proud grandfather of five and great grandfather of five. Charlie was born and raised in North Kingstown, RI and later settled in West Kingston. He wintered in Venice, Florida for many years before moving there permanently in 2010. He was a talented woodworker with amazing skills in planning, building, or fixing almost anything and he was always generous in providing help to others. If he wasn't meticulously maintaining something in his own home, he was probably helping someone else with theirs. He also enjoyed camping with Pauline in their motorhome, making many cross-country trips. Charlie was quick with an idiom (also known as Grandpa-isms), a smile and a wink. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. Charlie will be laid to rest with military honors in a private ceremony at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Tidewell Hospice in Venice, FL.
