Thomas E. DiAngelo, Jr., “Ted” to most, passed away on August 21, 2023. Born to Thomas and Eleanor DiAngelo on June 17, 1943, in Trenton, NJ. He moved to Bradenton in 1979 from Levittown, PA. Ted worked in the automobile industry for over 40 years. He was a skilled painter and later was the body shop manager for the Ed Howard dealership in Sarasota, retiring in 2004 after 25 years of service. Ted enjoyed all sports: boating, fishing, golfing, and bowling were those he participated in regularly throughout his lifetime. Those who knew him understood his passion was softball. He enjoyed both coaching and playing, but more importantly cherished the friendships that he made throughout the years with his teammates. Ted was extremely proud to be “Pop-Pop” to the three generations of grandchildren in his extended family. His face would light up as he watched the silly things that kids do. It was no secret that Ted had a special place in his heart for all animals, he felt family pets were an important part of a loving home. Cody will miss him. Ted’s smile, goofy anticks, kind demeanor and gentle soul will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Diane of 34 years; children Sandi (Steve) DelMoro, Terri DiAngelo; step- son Mike (Sharon) Duley; sister Sherri Lynn (Rob) McDermott; brothers Barry (Susan) Eckert, and Michael (Debbie) DiAngelo; grandchildren Missy (Jim) Piatt, Erica (Max) Allen, Nick DiAngelo, Chris Gross, Camryn Duley, Ashley (Marc) Insalaco. Great grandchildren; Tyler Cameron, Colton Cameron, Cassie Cameron, Bethy Cameron, Nick Piatt, Chris (Rachel) Cameron, Dillon Cameron, Victor (Nadacia) Rodriguez, and Greysen Insalaco. Great-great grandchildren: Emily, Faith Lynn, Evan, and Emmitt Cameron. On Thursday, August 31, there will be a gathering of family and friends at Farley Funeral Home, Venice, with a service beginning at 11 am. Following the service there will be a reception at the funeral home and light fare will be provided. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Tidewell Hospice or a charity of your choice.
