John Richard Vodak, age 76, of Nokomis, FL, passed away on August 29, 2023. He was born to John and Stella Vodak on April 6, 1947 in Chicago, IL. John was an accountant for the American Can Company for 40 years before retiring in 2005 when he moved to Nokomis. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. John enjoyed spending time at the beach and he will also be remembered as an EXCEL whiz! Surviving family members include his wife of 38 years, Kathleen (nee Hoggatt); children Kevin (Armensue),and Alex (Ashley); and grandson Nathaniel; sister Dorothy Fritz; brother Robert Vodak. He was a fond brother in law, and uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a great friend to many. John was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise, in 1984. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church at 9:30 am on September 12, 2023. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital - https://www.stjude.org/.
