Jean L Marenghi (Gallagher) 79 Passed away September 2, 2023 in Sarasota, FL. Jean was born in 1944 and grew up in Framingham, MA. After high school, she married the love of her life, John Marenghi. John and Jean had their only child Pamela and soon after moved to Franklin, MA. Her years there were full of fun, laughter and the camaraderie of her neighbors, family and friends. Jean worked for several organizations during this chapter of her life and was very successful in sales. She and John later purchased a summer home in Dennis, MA, where they spent weekends and summers on Cape Cod. Upon retirement, they followed the warm weather south to Port Charlotte, FL, and eventually found their permanent home in Venice, FL. Jean loved life and was often the life of the party. She will be remembered by her big smile and her ability to make others laugh, no matter what it took. She had a big heart, positive attitude and compassion for others. Jean was an excellent cook and enjoyed entertaining and preparing gourmet meals for her friends and family. She adored her granddogs and loved doggie sitting for extended periods of time. Her other interests included travel, boating, biking and picnics with her husband and granddogs. Jean is survived by her husband of 59 years John Marenghi, of Venice, daughter Pamela Marenghi Caffrey, son-in-law Thomas Caffrey and Granddog Lola of Sarasota. She is also survived by her brother, Edwin Gallagher of Natick, MA, sister Elizabeth "Ginger" Moody of Holliston, MA, brother Robert Gallagher of West Boylston, MA, brother Richard Gallagher of Ft Myers, FL and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. A Memorial Bench Dedication and Celebration of the Life of Jean Marenghi will be on November 2nd at 3:00pm at Maxine Barrett Park, 1000 Harbor Drive, Venice, Florida,Pavilion 6, at the south end of the park (next to the dog beach; Paw’s Park). Family and friends are invited to join in remembering Jean at her newly installed Memorial Bench, located in one of her favorite spots on Venice Island. Following the Memorial, guests are invited to join the family for dinner and drinks at Carrabba's Restaurant in Venice. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to: Moffitt Cancer Center, Framingham Heart Study or Little Dog Rescue of Florida.
