Tricia Loree Morley, the daughter of Susan and David Morley, died on October 3, 2023 of cancer at the Venice Hospice House in Venice, Florida. Tricia was born on March 18, 1977 in Denver, Colorado. She graduated from Chatfield High School in Littleton, CO and attended Red Rocks Community College in Golden, CO. In Denver, Tricia was very active with the Spina Bifida Association of Colorado, a birth defect with which she was born, participating in the handicapped ski program in Winter Park, CO, participating in swim-ming events at the Junior Para-Olympic Games in 1990 setting national records in two events and serving as a senior counselor at wheelchair camps in Colorado for children born with physical disabilities. She moved to Venice in 2016 to be near her parents and help provide care for her mother. She is survived by her parents, her sister, Tara Edwards and brother-in-law Todd of Denver, and her brother, Chris Morley and sister-in-law, Becky, of Denver. She is also survived by six nephews and a niece: Alex, Ashley and Tyler Edwards and Winn, Tanner, Jake and George Morley, all of Denver and her beloved dog, Caesar. An aunt, Amelia Fair and cousin, Rev. Pat Reuss, are also family members living in Venice. Tricia enjoyed boating weekends with the Venice Yacht Club and spending many happy times at the “happiest place on earth”, Disney World, since her move to Venice. As her illness progressed, Tricia spent many hours at the Venice jetty enjoying the fresh air, watching the boats passing in and out of the Inlet and keeping a sharp look-out for dolphins and an occasional manatee. Tricia had two passions: her dogs and taking care of children, particularly her niece and nephews. She was a member of Epiphany Cathedral Catholic parish. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00A.M. on October 17th at Epiphany. In her brief life, Tricia drew others to her and, through the struggles she endured from her disability, she inspired others with her determination and courage. A reception will be held in her honor in Highlands Ranch on October 22 at 1:30 P.M. In her brief life, Tricia drew others to her and, through the struggles she endured from her disability, she inspired others with her determination and courage. She is now in the loving arms of The Lord but will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements.
