Elia “Nonna” Maria Neri, age 74, of Venice, FL, formerly of Niles, IL, passed away on October 3rd, 2023. She was born on New Year's Day in 1949 to Arturo and Anna (nee Bruno) Busillo in Piaggine, Italy. Elia had a long successful career in computer programming and was an active member of the Catholic community. She will be remembered as a loving “Ma” and “Nonna” to everyone who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents Arturo and Anna Busillo; spouse Julian Neri; and sister Carla Stone (nee Busillo). Left to cherish her memory are her children, Michael (Ashley) Neri and Danielle Neri; grandchildren Luca, Leonardo, and Luigi Neri; sisters Maria Busillo and Rita Bertacchi (Piero) ; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to your local Catholic charities location. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at St. Rosalie Church in Harwood Heights, IL from 10:30 am to 11:30 am followed by a funeral mass at 11:30 am. Interment immediately following at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
