William “Willie” Zeyer age 74, of Venice, FL formally of Ridgefield, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. He was born in New York, New York on August 5, 1949. He was a devoted and loving husband of 52 years to Maura Zeyer. He was a loving father and grandfather. He coached Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball for many years in Ridgefield, CT. He was an avid golfer and a die-hard Mets and Jets fan. Willie worked as a steamfitter/project manager, at Local 638 NY for 40 years until his retirement in 2009. He is survived by his wife Maura Zeyer of Venice, FL; sons Brian (Jennifer) Zeyer of Ridgefield, CT, and Christopher Zeyer of Venice, FL; grandsons Brett Zeyer and Adam Zeyer both of Ridgefield, CT; and sister Joann Kourkoulis of North Port, FL. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on December 28, 2023, at 11:30 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1301 Center Road, Venice, FL 34292 with interment to follow in the church’s memorial garden. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Tunnel 2 to Towers Foundation (www.T2T.org) or Wounded Warriors (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
