Judith Daniels Huskey, 84 of Venice, Fl. passed away Friday October 23. 2023. She is survived by her two sons, Matthew and Michael Huskey, Daughter-in-Law Traci Huskey, and her Granddaughter Samanatha Huskey, as well as her Sister Barabara Zango. Judy was born in Jacksonville, FL to Mary and Douglas Daniels. Her early years were spent in Jacksonville and her family would relocate to Tampa, FL. She attended Plant High School in Tampa, FL. After graduating she began her career working for General Telephone. This is where she met her future husband, Marvin Huskey. Judy and Marvin married and relocated to Venice in 1973. They purchased 5 acres outside of town and built their home on the weekends until it was completed in 1974. Judy and Marvin raised their boys there and enjoyed a wonderful life as a family on those 5 acres that is now considered in town. Judy was a journalist for the Sarasota Herald Tribue for close to 30 years before retiring. Marvin and Judy split their time in retirement between Venice and Scaley Mountain NC, enjoying the warm winters of Florida and cool summers of North Carolina. Her passions were her family, growing orchids, and cooking meals made from fresh vegetables grown in Marvin’s Garden. As the matriarch and peacekeeper of the family, she will be dearly missed. In the Spring of 2024. There will be a Celebration of Life held in her honor at the annual Huskey Family Picnic.
