We are sad to announce that Sharon (Cherie) Grennan passed away at the age of 83 on Saturday October 21st. Cherie was the daughter of William and Mildred Williams. She was married to Leo Grennan in 1969. She is survived by her son, Sean Wheatland, daughter, Jori Kasher, son in law, Jeff Kasher, sister-in-law, Mary Poruba and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, sister Beverly Friede, and nephew, Brian Friede. Cherie graduated from Streator High School in 1957. She attended Northern Illinois University and received an associate degree from Triton College. She formerly operated a Travel Agency and traveled extensively. She obtained a Real Estate license and worked for Hart Realty Company and purchased the business in 1999. She was president of the Kiwanis Club of Streator from 2005-2006 and served as a board member of Streator Onized Credit Union for over 20 years. She was active in Engle Lane theater for many years and moved to Venice Florida in 2020 and continued to enjoy life, traveling, going to the theatre, symphony and opera while living there. Cherie was an amazing mother, loving wife, sister and Aunt. Her sense of humor added a special touch to her sweet nature. A mass to honor her life will be held at St Michael the Arc Angel Church 413 South Park Street, Streator, Illinois on Monday, November 20th at 10:00 AM with a burial at Riverview Cemetery 1102 West Main Street, Streator Illinois immediately following.
