Richard Ray Weller (Dick) 93 of Osprey, FL, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2023. He was born on March 21,1930 to parents Ray and Vernelle Weller in Flint, MI. In 1961, Dick joined IDS Financial Services, Inc (American Express) as a Registered Sales Representative. He worked his way up the ladder there for 28 years and retired as the Senior Vice President. He was responsible for 165 Field offices and over 6000 employees reporting to him. Dick was known for his charismatic personality and his knack for making everyone laugh around him. He had a deep passion for sports, particularly golf. He could often be found on the golf course, perfecting his swing, and enjoying the beauty of the game. Dick not only golfed over 800 courses worldwide but was also a Golf Digest Course Rater/Evaluator-National/State Rankings as well as a Rules of Golf Seminar Presentation speaker. Dick’s family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His family always called him “Superman” because to them he was invincible and was larger than life. There is no doubt that he will be greeted in Heaven with a “Well done”. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy J Weller, and his daughter Nancy G Weller and daughter-in-law Monie Weller. Dick had 3 granddaughters that adored him, Tabby Heffernan, Misty (Michael) Jaggers and Jennifer Weller. He was also blessed to have 9 great grandchildren and 14 great, great grandchildren. Dick is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Barbara Halvery Weller, his brother Frank Weller, his sons Thomas Weller and Donald Weller and a great, great grandson, David Russell. Friends and family will gather to celebrate Dick’s life at Mission Valley County Club located at 1851 Mission Valley Blvd, Nokomis, FL 34275 on January 11th from 2-4pm.
