Jean Alfano, age 79, of Venice, FL, passed away, after a long battle with cancer, on December 20, 2023. She was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on January 31, 1944, to John and Mabel Harkin. Jean worked for IBM as a Manufacturer/Process Manager in New York until her retirement in 1998. After moving to Florida, Jean’s passion was helping people. She spent 25 years volunteering at St. Mark’s Thrift Store and aiding those who needed assistance. Surviving family members include her husband, Charles of Venice; sister Janet Cardascia of Venice; sister-in-law Georgie Alfano; and many nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Mary Ann McGoewan and brother John Harkin. Visitation will be at Farley Funeral Home, Venice, on Wednesday, 12/27, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, 12/28, 10am at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Venice. A committal at Venice Memorial Gardens will follow the funeral service.
