Our dearly beloved husband and father, George Patrick Lynch, has peacefully passed into the arms of our Lord on January 30, 2024, in Venice, FL. George was born in Lowell, MA on January 16, 1935, to Thomas J. and Madeleine Lynch and was the youngest of five siblings: Thomas, Peter, Camille, Madeleine and Lorraine. He grew up devoted to his country and loved playing sports, especially baseball. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean war 1953-1957. He was stationed in Germany, Libya and Greece, followed by a year in Washington D.C. at the Pentagon and he continued serving his country by working for the US government for 30 years where he held positions at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, MA. He was a dynamic leader and was respected by those he managed as well as his peers. He retired with honors. On August 23, 1974, George married his beloved wife Rita in Germany. They came home to the US in 1975 and lived and loved in Andover, MA, E. Kingston, NH and came to Venice, FL in 2012 to enjoy retirement in the warmth and sunshine. George is survived by his wife, Rita Lynch and his children: his son, Terrence Lynch and his wife Mary Ellen of North Port, FL; his son, Patrick Lynch and his wife Jennifer of Baltimore, MD; and his daughter, Simone Lynch of Venice, FL as well as his grandchildren Hayley and Justin Lynch of Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by his sister Madeleine Donelly and her son Tommy of Chelmsford, MA, and his sister-in-law Mary Lynch of Londonderry, NH as well as many nieces and nephews. He has always been an avid dog lover, and his pups Bella and Beau will miss him. George’s family honors his wishes to be laid to rest at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Sarasota, FL. The service will be held on February 16, 2024, at 9:30AM. Farley Funeral Home of Venice, FL will be taking care of the arrangements. Rest now, dear George. You are loved eternally, and we will keep your spirit alive for the remainder of our days here on earth, until we meet again in our Father’s loving arms. In the meantime, “Big Daddy”, keep them laughing as you did us.
