Shirley L. Wallet, age 86, of Venice, FL, passed away on February 2, 2024. She was born in Alexandria, Kentucky and relocated to Venice in 2018 from Alexandria, Kentucky. Her Kentucky roots earned her the nickname "Kentucky Blue”. Shirley was an instrument rated pilot. She formerly attended 1st Baptist Church in Cold Springs, KY, and was a member of Colonial Baptist Church in Venice, FL. Surviving family members include her husband, Tom Wallet, of Venice; son Geoffrey Yates of Cary, NC; grandchildren Reagan and Bailey Yates or Cary, NC; stepson Tom Costello of Alexandria, KY; and stepsons Mike, Jeff, and Josh Wallet of Cincinnati, OH. Memorial contributions can me made to Colonial Baptist Church Youth Programs. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Colonial Baptist Church in Venice, 2400 Taylor Ranch Trail in Venice.
